I was just watching the news this morning and they mentioned a website called the Foliage Network: (http://www.foliagenetwork.com/)
They have spotters across various states (mostly Bed&Breakfast owners) who report on the status of the fall color change twice a week from September to November. You can pull up a map of both the color status and the leave drop status. It looks like a really handy website. Actually, I've been trying to find a website just like this for a while so that I can plan a quick trip to the UP on a colorful weekend.
